How to make Carrot Halwa

Try this recipe For Carrot Halwa

  • 1-kilogram red carrots grated, around 15-16 medium-sized carrots
  • 1.25 liters of whole milk around 5 cups
  • 3 tbsp Ghee 45 ml, divided
  • 1-1.5 cups granulated white sugar 200-300 grams, adjust to taste
  • 3/4 tsp cardamom powder
  • 2 tbsp chopped cashews raw

How to make Carrot Halwa Recipe

 

  • Firstly, peel the skin of the carrot and grate finely, keep aside.
  • In a large Kadai heat ¼ cup Ghee and fry 10 cashews, and 10 almonds until golden brown, and keep aside.
  • In the same ghee, add grated carrot and saute well for 5 minutes or until it changes color slightly.
  • Add milk in parts and let it boil for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  • Continue to boil until the carrots are cooked well and the milk reduces.
  • Once the milk thickens completely, add ¾ cup sugar.
  • Mix well and cook until the sugar dissolves and thickens.
  • Cook until the halwa thickens and ghee releases from the sides.
  • Now turn off the flame and garnish with ¼ tsp cardamom powder and fried nuts.
  • Finally, enjoy Carrot Halwa made with Ghee, chilled or warm.
