Try this recipe For Carrot Halwa
- 1-kilogram red carrots grated, around 15-16 medium-sized carrots
- 1.25 liters of whole milk around 5 cups
- 3 tbsp Ghee 45 ml, divided
- 1-1.5 cups granulated white sugar 200-300 grams, adjust to taste
- 3/4 tsp cardamom powder
- 2 tbsp chopped cashews raw
How to make Carrot Halwa Recipe
- Firstly, peel the skin of the carrot and grate finely, keep aside.
- In a large Kadai heat ¼ cup Ghee and fry 10 cashews, and 10 almonds until golden brown, and keep aside.
- In the same ghee, add grated carrot and saute well for 5 minutes or until it changes color slightly.
- Add milk in parts and let it boil for 10 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- Continue to boil until the carrots are cooked well and the milk reduces.
- Once the milk thickens completely, add ¾ cup sugar.
- Mix well and cook until the sugar dissolves and thickens.
- Cook until the halwa thickens and ghee releases from the sides.
- Now turn off the flame and garnish with ¼ tsp cardamom powder and fried nuts.
- Finally, enjoy Carrot Halwa made with Ghee, chilled or warm.
